Killington Parks & Recreation Trunk-or-Treat
Get ready for a fun-filled Halloween afternoon in Killington! Killington Parks & Recreation is bringing back Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, October 17, with a new location and a new opportunity to make a full afternoon of Halloween fun.
Decorate your vehicle, fill your trunk with treats, and get ready for kids to trick-or-treat from car to car. Costumes are encouraged, and we’ll also have costume awards for our little Halloween stars!
When: Saturday, October 17, 2026 2:30 PM–4:00 PM
Where: 2363 US Route 4, Killington On the lawn in front of Base Camp
Who?: Children of all ages are welcome! Trunk-or-Treat is free and open to families from Killington and neighboring communities.
What is Trunk-or-Treat? Trunk-or-Treat is a family-friendly Halloween event where individuals decorate the trunk of their car, the back of an SUV, or the bed of a truck and hand out candy as children walk from vehicle to vehicle.
Want to host a trunk? Register your vehicle using the registration link.
This registration is for vehicles participating in Trunk-or-Treat only. Children and families do not need to register to attend.
Costume Awards: Costumes are encouraged! We’ll have costume awards during the event, so come dressed to impress - or to scare us!
Make it a Halloween afternoon! This year, Trunk-or-Treat is being held on the same day as the Killington Haunted House, giving families the opportunity to enjoy both events.
After or during Trunk-or-Treat, head over to the Killington Welcome Center for the Haunted House:
Haunted House: 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Lights-On Family Showing: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
The Lights-On showing provides a less-scary option for younger children and anyone who would rather experience the Haunted House with the lights on.
A Few Reminders
- Costumes are encouraged but not required.
- Children do not need to register to attend Trunk-or-Treat.
- Only vehicles hosting a Trunk-or-Treat station need to register.
- Please leave pets at home for this event.
- Please follow the directions of event staff when arriving and parking.

Trunk Host Registration
Want to be part of Killington’s Trunk-or-Treat? Decorate your vehicle, bring some candy, and help make Halloween fun for local kids!
Trunk Set-Up
1:00 PM–2:30 PM
Registered vehicles should arrive during the set-up window so there is plenty of time to get parked and decorated before Trunk-or-Treat begins at 2:30 PM.
- Vehicles will have designated spaces marked on the grass in front of Base Camp.
- Please arrive between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM to allow time for parking and decorating.
- Once you are parked and set up, someone should remain at your vehicle for the duration of the event.
- Trunk-or-Treat runs from 2:30 PM–4:00 PM.
What Does a Trunk Host Need to Do?
It's simple!
Decorate your vehicle
Go all out with a Halloween theme, keep it simple, or let the kids' imaginations do the rest!
Bring candy and hand it out
Your main job is to make sure the kids have something to collect as they visit your trunk. We expect a good turnout, so please bring enough candy for lots of trick-or-treaters.
Promote your business - or don't!
Businesses, organizations, community groups, families and individuals are all welcome. You can decorate your trunk to promote your business or organization, or simply create a fun Halloween display. There is no requirement to promote anything—just come have fun!
A Few Things to Know
- There is no fee to register a trunk.
- Your vehicle must be registered in advance to participate as a Trunk-or-Treat host.
- Vehicles will be parked on the grass in front of Base Camp.
- Please bring everything you need for your display, including candy, decorations, etc. There will not be access to a power supply.
- Please keep your display family-friendly.
- No vehicles may leave the event area while children are participating.
- Trunk hosts should be ready to hand out candy from 2:30 PM–4:00 PM.

Inclement Weather Plan
The event will be held rain or shine. However, in the case of heavy downpours or severe inclement weather, the event may be canceled for safety reasons. Please note that there will be no alternate rain date, and participants are encouraged to plan accordingly.
