Thirty minute group and private lessons are available at the Herbert I Johnson Recreation Pool for children of all ages.
Group lessons are scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays at 2 weeks session intervals (4 total lessons in each session).
Session I: July 6, 8, 13, 15
Session II: July 20, 22, 27, 29
Session III: August 5, 7, 10, 12
Level 1: Help first time swimmers feel comfortable in the water.
Level 2: Students learn how to float and start to develop fundamental skills. They should be comfortable in the water.
Level 3: Students learn to front crawl, backstroke, and tread water. Students should be able to swim length of pool comfortably.
Level 4: Students learn endurance swimming in elementary back stroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and to turn at the wall.
Mid-Day Group Lessons
Monday and Wednesday
Level 1 and 2: 11:30-12:00
Level 3 and 4: 12:00-12:30
Fee per session: $50 Residents | $60 Non Residents
Evening Group Lesson
Monday and Wednesday
Level 1/2 - 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM
Level 3/4 - 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Fee per session: $50 Residents | $60 Non Residents

Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Students are allowed one makeup lesson if there is a mutually agreeable makeup time available.
- Absences must be reported at least two (2) hours before the missed class to be issued a makeup session.
- Lessons are NOT canceled for rain. Lessons will be canceled if there is lightning. (The pool staff will determine if there is lightning in the area.)
- Students will receive a make-up if they're not allowed in the water due to weather. (Air temp is below 68 degrees or lightning).
- All refunds will be less bank fees and charges.
- Full refund will be given if cancelation occurs 30 days prior to the first lesson.
- 50% refund will be given for withdrawal from the program if notice is given 14-30 days prior to the first lesson in a session.
- 25% refund will be given for withdrawal from a program if notice is given 7-14 days prior to the first lesson in a session.
- No refunds will issued for cancelations less than 7 days prior to the start of the first lesson in a session.
Expectations
- Swimmers will check in upon arrival.
- Swimmers are ready to start the lesson on time.
- Swimmers will be cooperative and ready to follow instruction.
- Participants will show respect towards their instructor/s and other lesson participants.
- Participants will exhibit safe behavior during their lessons.
- If behavior expectations are not met, Killington Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel swimmer's remaining lessons without a refund.
