Thirty minute group and private lessons are available at the Herbert I Johnson Recreation Pool for children of all ages.
Group lessons are scheduled Monday and Wednesdays at 2 weeks session intervals (4 total lessons in each session).
Session I: July 8, 10, 15, 17
Session II: July 22, 24, 29, 31
Session III: August 5, 7, 12, 14
Mid-Day Group Lessons
Monday and Wednesday
Level 1 and 2: 11:30-12:00
Level 3 and 4: 12:00-12:30
Fee per session: $44 Residents | $53 Non Residents
Evening Group Lesson
Monday and Wednesday
Level 1/2 - 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM
Level 3/4 - 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM

Private and Semi-private lessons
Shallow end pool instruction will begin the week of July 4 by appointment only. Purchase an individual lesson, or weekly lessons.
Private 1 on 1 for 30 minutes of instruction
Fee for 1 lesson - $33 Resident, $38 Non-Resident
Fee for 3 lessons - $99 Resident, $110 Non-Resident
Group 2:1 for 30 minutes of instruction
Fee for 1 one lesson - $25 Resident, $30 Non-Resident
Fee for 3 lessons - $69 Resident, $83 Non-Resident
Multiple private lessons will be completed within two weeks.
Due to occasional pool closures, swim lessons can be rescheduled in alternate days.
*The default private lesson time is 12:30 PM on Monday, Wednesday, Fridays, but the meeting time can be flexible based on your instructor's availability. For more information email Griffin Van Niel at recadmin@killingtontown.com.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
- No less than two (2) days prior to start of the session to receive a refund.
- Absences must be reported at least two (2) hours before the missed class.
- Notifying the teacher when you come in for a lesson prior to the date of absence.
- Students are allowed two (2) make-up sessions.
- Lessons go on in the rain unless severe weather is occurring.
- Students will receive a make-up if they're not allowed in the water due to weather. (Air temp is below 68 degrees).
- Full refunds will be issued if the recreation makes changes that prohibits the participants from attending.
- 50% refund will be given for withdrawal from the program less than ten (10) business days prior to the program start date.
- 25% refund will be given for withdrawal from a program if the request is made within 24 hours of the programs start date.
- Zero refund will be issued given more than 24 hours after the program has started.
- Beginner ages (3-6) six (6) participants max.
- Intermediate ages (5-7) six (6) participants max.
- Intermediate ages 2 (6-10) eight (8) participants max.
- Intermediate ages 3 (8-15) ten (10) participants max.
- Please arrive on time. Arriving late disrupts flow of the class.
- Have swimmers ready.
