All children in grades 1 through 6 are invited to join spring baseball. This co-ed recreation league is a fun and easy way for kids of all abilities to enjoy learning the game. Beginners are welcome! All information below is based on estimated guidelines for spring sports. Exact start times and the format for inter-league play is subject to change.

Practice

Practice begins the first week of April, depending on weather and field conditions. All three teams will practice Saturday mornings at 11 AM. Majors and Minors may have a second practice mid week, depending on coach and player availability. A pitching and batting clinic may become available at the end of March. Players are encouraged to come in sneakers (or baseball cleats if you have them), layers, a mask, and a ball cap. Please also bring a glove and a full water bottle. Equipment should not be a barrier to play, so please email Sarah Newell at recdirector@killingtontown.com if you need help with any of these items.

Games

Games for the Majors begin the first full week of May, and games for the Minors begin the second week of May. The season wraps up the last week of June, or the first week of July depending on playoffs. The Majors and Minors have games at different locations throughout Rutland County including, but not limited to, Rutland Town, Brandon, Pittsford, Poutlney, Rutland City, and more. Depending on team size, some games may be at home.

Registration Fees

Early registration is especially critical to ensuring baseball operates this year. Register before March 20 and receive a $15 discount off the normal registration fee. Register after March 31 and there will be a $10 late fee. Financial aid is available to ensure all interested children can participate.
